About This Place

Located in the heart of Columbus, Ohio, The Olde Oak is a vibrant bar & grill that expertly melds a welcoming neighborhood tavern atmosphere with an eclectic, flavor-packed menu perfect for food lovers and casual diners alike. Nestled at 62 Parsons Ave, this local hotspot brings both energy and comfort to every visit, making it an ideal go-to for anyone craving a lively setting paired with satisfying food and drinks.

The culinary offerings at The Olde Oak celebrate bold, approachable flavors with a nod to Southwestern and BBQ-inspired cuisine. Signature dishes such as the Beef Brisket Tacos Al Pastor deliver tender, smoky meat wrapped in warm tortillas, while the Grilled Chicken Wrap combines juicy chicken breast with pepper jack cheese, crunchy onion straws, and a creamy buttermilk scallion ranch, wrapped in a soft flour tortilla (gluten-free wraps available upon request). For sharable delights, their Jalapeno Popper Dip is a creamy, peppery vegan-friendly option served with housemade corn tortilla chips, perfect for igniting your palate with a smooth warmth.

Brunch visitors rave about inventive items like the Station 62 Housemade Southwestern Falafel on a corncake arepa, crowned with an egg over easy and paired with sweet breakfast potatoes—a wonderful combination of textures and flavors that feels both hearty and fresh. The Sweet Potato Hash is another standout, generously piled with chorizo, kale, and black beans, layered with two perfectly cooked over-easy eggs and vibrant brunch sauce that ties it all together in a comforting, satisfying bite.

What truly sets The Olde Oak apart is its vibrant atmosphere—a mix of art, music, and a distinctly friend-forward vibe. Patrons regularly highlight the killer murals adorning its walls, live jazz sessions (like recent performances from Jimmi Love), and even artists painting live during the shows, creating a dynamic sense of community and culture. The bar itself is spacious, featuring an inviting layout of high and low tables along with lounge-style seating, conducive to both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Group events, like birthday parties, find the perfect home here, supported by dedicated staff and ample seating.

On special night menus, the wings stand as a real crowd-pleaser, especially during the popular Chicken Wings Night when wings come fresh and hot, smothered in flavorful sauces ranging from classic BBQ to fiery hot wings and tangy lemon pepper. The accompanying homemade aioli and loaded fries offer irresistible additions, enhancing the culinary experience with creamy, crispy, and savory notes.

Service at The Olde Oak earns mixed but understanding feedback—while the staff sometimes manage a full house on their own, their dedication shines through. Guests appreciate the genuine hospitality, especially when ordering at the bar, and the friendly, attentive vibe created by the small yet hardworking team. The venue also boasts convenient, meter-free parking right on Parsons Avenue and a nearby lot, making it easy to swing by without the parking hassle.

Killer murals on the walls. Good jazz band played tonight, Jimmi Love. Cheap quality hot dog for dinner, rest of the menu looked good. A lady was doing a painting while the band played. Great atmosphere.

Service was really lacking, super loud, good food. We went for the wing night special $.75 wings. They came out super fresh and hot, the steak was rolling off of them. I got the fries with the homemade aioli, which also came out hot and fresh. Really loved the food! Service could've been better but I feel for them as only 2 people were running around covering all the tables.

Nice, big, spacious bar with high tables, low tables, complimented with alike seating. Delicious signature drinks accompanied with cool music and a great crowd. Delicious food and excellent service. Thank you to Johnny and Alex. Celebrated two birthdays at The Olde Oak and it was the perfect setting. Parking lot across the street as well and meter free parking on the same street. One pool table available and the interior decor is a work of art. I have been visiting The Old Oak at least once a week and the experience is always memorable. The crowd and staff makes this bar welcoming and it’s always a blast.

Service was good considering there was only one person working. They ask that you order at the bar. We ordered the Sweet Heat Burger and Buffalo wings. The wings were smokey and very tasty. We shared the burger and thought it was just the right about of sweet and spice. Bonus points for splitting are burger and fries for us. Nice little neighborhood tavern. We will return.

Laidback and unassuming at first glance, this neighborhood resto-bar will dazzle you with its stellar food. I'm particularly fond of their namesake burger, their Mexican street corn esquites dish, and their brunchtime waffles. Nonetheless, every single item offered on their menu is outstanding, made all the more remarkable by its overall affordability - which makes it very feasible to eat here on a routine basis without breaking the bank. This combination of affordable pricing, stellar food, and friendly staff has positioned the venue to grow into a sort of hub for the Olde Towne East neighborhood. My only critique would be its slow service, a result simply of minimal staff. Not ideal for patrons on a tight schedule during their lunch break - but an unexpected benefit to those who simply wish to socialize, relax, or study in the space without necessarily being pressured immediately into purchasing something or spending money. I appreciate this laidback vibe, which has resulted in an eclectic but consistent clientele comprising folks from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds and income brackets. The very essence of what a bar should be - a place for all to enjoy without the stress and pretentiousness that I see these days throughout its rival bars across the street.
